I mean. Look how pretty this damn wine is? Almost too pretty to drink. ALMOST. Who do you think I am?
This is a unique little wine from Slovenia. Unique because of the blend, and because it clocks in at only 10% alcohol! Light, bright liquid rubies- it kinda reminds me of my winescovery from last year. The wine? 2012 Zajc Cviček. The breakdown: Zajc is the producer and Cviček is the region (pronounced tsvee-check) and name/type of wine. Cviček wines must have a specific blend of 5 white and 4 red grape varieties and be under 10% alcohol. The grape roll call? Blauer Koelner, Blaufränkisch, Kraljevina, Portugiezer, St. Laurent, Welschriesling, Yellow Plavec, Gruner Veltliner, and Stajerska Belina. Whew! I need a nap and possibly a translator. Or just a glass. That should be fine too.
If you want to buy this wine or see the quirky red rabbit filled label, head here. PS- I’ve just realized the last 3 posts I’ve written have featured a red wine with a blend of red and white grapes. I guess it’s a thing I’m going through.
