Nawlins

Father forgive me, for I have sinned. It’s been over a year since my last visit to New Orleans.

I took that photo of a slightly creepy clown/mime in the French Quarter during my last (and first!) trip to New Orleans in 2010.  I’ll hopefully be seeing a lot more whacky ish, because I’m headed back for a few days of gluttonous debauchery later this week!!

Remember what happened the last time I was in the Big Easy? A beignet love fest at Cafe du Monde and one of the most amazing dining experiences I’ve ever had at Galatoire’s.

Oh yeah, that happened too. It was the evening of the annual Christmas Festival. I was drinking a hurricane at Lafitte’s Blacksmith Shop. A husband and wife dressed as Santa and Mrs. Klaus approached with a stroller disguised as a sleigh. I got in it. Photos were taken.

Beignet Breakfast

If you follow me on Twitter, you definitely know my recent whereabouts- New Orleans! It was an incredible trip and a truly magical place. I’ve got lots of stories to tell including one of the most fun lunches in recent memory in what is now my favorite dining room in America. That post is coming next but for now please enjoy these warm doughy sugar coated clouds from Cafe du Monde. I certainly did.

N.B.- above table not mine!
