Valentine’s Valdiguié

Valentine’s Day is SO four days ago. But, I wanted to share with you what I was sipping on with my sweetheart. I’m currently obsessed with this Folk Machine Valdiguié, so it was my wine of choice for that night. It also has a color coordinating label with the pink-centric holiday, so that works too. Anyway, I love it and I just want to drink it all the time. It’s bright, tangy and irresistible. Just like me. Too much?

Let’s talk Valdiguié for a sec. It’s a grape that is also referred to as Napa Gamay here in California, but it has no relation to Gamay. It is actually a grape originally from Languedoc-Roussillon in France where it is also known as Gros Auxerrois. I realize how annoying the grape name game is.

PS- You know a night is good when the label has a big drip stain on  it.

Bravo on the back label color choice! Loving it.

I know you aren’t supposed to judge a wine on it’s label, but if I saw this in the store and didn’t have the knowledge you just dropped on me, I would so buy it based on the label alone!
